Freedom Fighter Shri Kanak Madhukar was the son of Shri Pyaarchand Banera. His early education took place in Udaipur. He got inspiration from Nityanand ji Aryasanyasi to make sacrifices for the nation. He set-up a private school in the princely state of Gwalior. In the capacity of a national activist and fighter, he wrote articles and essays in many newspapers. As a worker of Praja Mandal, his main focus was to represent the grievances of the people. He worked with leaders like Haribhau Upadhyay, Ramnarayan Choudhary and Vijay Singh Pathik.

In addition to being sentenced for imprisonment, he was expelled from Ajmer. He began the publication of 'Navjeevan' in the year 1944. He used to write a diary in the jail, in which his daily activities were recorded. In his diary, he has mentioned the incident of Jwala Prasad's absconding from the Ajmer jail.

Although his early education was done in Udaipur, but his field of work lay in the regions of Ajmer and Gwalior. He worked as an assistant editor in Navjyoti, Rajasthan, Riyasati, and Pathikji's Navyug and Navjeevan. He participated in activities with Pathik ji for a span of 15 months and stayed in jail for a period of 14 months with Madanlal Aggarwal, Amardev Singh, Devraj Anchal. Upon being released from jail, he was expelled from Ajmer-Merwara.
