Freedom fighter Shri Ramprasad Gandhi, inspired by Babu Mukta Prasad of Bikaner, as a member of the student organization became an active participant in the reform movement. Later on he went to Pali and along with looking after his family, he worked towards awakening the public consciousness for independence in the cities of Pali, Karachi in the Sindh province, and Hyderabad. He prominently participated in the conferences held from 1938 to 1949 under the Native State Lok Parishad at Pali, Kolkata, Beawar, Khor, Chandawal, Barmer and Sojat. He was vehemently opposed to the evil social practices such as the Jagari system, and exploitation of the marginalized sections of society. He struggled relentlessly towards a responsible government. Despite being arrested and deported, he did not give up working for the cause of nation.
