Union Territory of Puducherry, District - Karaikal. Sebastian was the son of Arulanandam. He was born on 30 April 1926. He hailed from Karaikal. He took his degree in French at the French College, Puducherry, and studied French Law (B.L. First Year only). He was employed as a clerk in the Contribution Department under the French India Government. He resigned from his post in July 1954 to take part in the liberation struggle. He was brutally harassed by the French police for trying to hoist the Indian National Flag in the Administrator’s office, Karaikal. He escaped to the borders and indulged in picketing till the merger. He was given a State Award for his role in the Liberation movement.
