Embassy of India Baku on Jan 14, 2022 (1500 to 1700 hours) on the occasion of Makar Sankranti organized a Rangoli Making Competition in chancery premises with the participation of Indian diaspora in Azerbaijan and some Azerbaijani nations. The program started with the welcome of all participants and invitees by the Ambassador of India and brief instructions about the competition. 13 pairs of ladies participated in the competition. An Azerbaijani couple also competed in the event. The list of participants is given below.
The competition was judged by the Spouses of the Ambassador of Egypt and Croatia to Baku, who themselves are well-known figures in the field of Medicine, painting, and sculpture. The marks were awarded on design, color combination, and overall presentation of Rangoli. The result was declared by Dr. Rosy, Spouse of Ambassador of India as First place went to Mrs. Srujana and Mrs vine la; Second place to Mrs. Monika and Mrs. Anuradha; third place to Mrs. Sonia and Mrs. Muskan. The judges were welcomed by the Indian Ambassador and presented a bouquet. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the Ambassador of India expressed his thoughts about the significance of the day and its relevance in different parts of India, known by different names. He finally thanked the participants and the audience.
