The Club for Change conducted a live interactive session with Ms. Megha Uppal, Training Manager, Renaissance, Mumbai. The student participation was 50 in numbers across different programs. This interactive session was held in Board Room, AIHM. Knowledge, a skill essential in the hospitality sector, was the primary goal of the student-centered session, as students asked questions regarding the training framework used in hotel operations. Ms. Uppal addressed the student fraternity on the push and pull component of the front office department. She started the session with fundamental four requisites for the student to bring in their professional career. As an evolving Front office professional, the student focus on soft skills was stressed many times. She inspired the students to bring forth their opinions, ideas, and queries regarding not only joining the hotel industry but other allied hospitality sectors wherein customer service is the focus area. The second part of this session was open to the students to bring out their queries, doubts, career plan & know-how of related areas to front office operations. In this section, the student community put forward queries regarding Marketing & sales as a career, overseas employment opportunities. New emerging terminologies like macro moments and micro-moments were acquired from this session.  A clear career plan was explained by Ms. Megha Uppal in the front office department. Also, she added the usage of acquired knowledge in many a dimension across other industries like software & ITES industries. The students were inspired by her simplicity and easy to grasp points which invariably happens to be the most important aspect of this interaction. The faculty of the front office department facilitated the Q & A sessions.

Ms. Pooja Mehta, along with student coordinators Mr. Ajay Basera and Mr. Ankit Mehta, conceptualized and coordinated the entire session. It was part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, which commemorated 75 years of independence as a productive awareness program with interaction to improve the information necessary for skill growth.
