Cultural events at Museum of Immigration

On 15 April, the celebrations of India@75 were launched by CGI, Sao Paulo with a day-long celebration of Indian culture at the Museum of Immigration in Sao Paulo. The day-long activities at the Museum included Bharatnatyam and Kathak dance performance, Sitar recital, Folk dance workshop, Yoga session and culinary workshop. The Bollywood film ´Neerja´ was also screened as a part of the celebration.

The Consulate organized several events like ‘Odisha Diwas’, the launch of ‘Little Guru’, a Sanskrit learning gamified app, International Dance Day and Ambedkar Jayanti on the occasion of India@75 celebrations.

On 8 April 21 as a part of celebration of India@75 CGI, Sao Paulo celebrated State Formation Day of Odisha titled 'Odisha Diwas'. Mr. Nahar, Head, Project Management Unit, Dept of Tourism, Odisha made a presentation on behalf of Director Odisha Tourism. The other highlights of the event included a Odissi dance performance by the award winning Odissi dancer, Ms. Kavita Dwibedi from India. And a video related to Odissa tourism.

In April, as a part of the celebration of India@75, CGI Sao Paulo celebrated the 71st Foundation Day of ICCR with participation of some eminent people from the cultural field from Brazil. The cultural performances included Kathak, Bharatnatyam & Odissi dance presentations. During the same event the 'Little Guru' Sanskrit learning gamified app was also launched in Brazil.

On 20 April celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti and invited Prof. Emiliano Unzer from Federal University of the Espírito Santo State to deliver a talk on “The Architect of the Indian Constitution – life & times of Dr. Ambedkar”.

On 29 April, 2021 Celebrated International Dance Day and promoted the classical Indian dance form 'Odissi' through a workshop on “Abhinaya language of the body, window to the soul” by Rita Andrade. On the same day a special bollywood workshop was also organised by Prof. Iara Ananda Romano.
