Archeological Survey of India (ASI) launches ‘Adopt a Heritage 2.0 programme’

Archeological Survey of India launches the ‘Adopt A Heritage 2.0’ programme at Samvet Auditorium, Indira Gandhi National Center of Arts, New Delhi. Under this program, ASI is inviting corporate stakeholders to help in enhancing the amenities of Indian monuments. Private stakeholders can apply to adopt monuments with the help of a dedicated web portal (www.indianheritage.gov.in). More than 3,500 monuments have been protected by the ASI to sustain and protect the rich cultural heritage of India.

Minister of Culture, Tourism, and DoNER Shri G Kishan Reddy virtually attended the launch ceremony. He encouraged everyone to come forward and contribute to the preservation and rejuvenation of India’s rich cultural heritage. Minister of State for Culture and External Affairs Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi, Secretary (Culture) Shri Govind Mohan, and Director General of ASI Shri K.K Basa graced the launch event with their presence.

Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi elaborated on the importance of culture in shaping the country's true identity and praised the program that shall help preserve the Indian monuments for future generations.

An exclusive e-permission portal (www.asipermissionportal.gov.in) was also launched at the event which shall provide permission for photography, filming, and development on and around the monuments. The portal shall contribute to fast-tracking the permission-obtaining challenges faced by filmmakers and other people.
