Hon’ble Prime Minister interacts with India’s Asian Para Games athletes

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed and interacted with India’s Asian Para Games contingent at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi, India. He congratulated the athletes for their outstanding achievements in the latest Asian Para Games 2022.
In the 2022 Asian Para Games edition, India bagged an impressive 111 medals, including 29 golds. The Indian contingent saw a 54% increase in total medals from the previous peak in 2018, and the 29 golds were nearly double the 2018 count. Beyond the numbers, it was a journey fueled by resilience, determination, and pure passion, leaving a lasting impact on the hearts of everyone who witnessed it.
Prime Minister encouraged the para-athletes by saying, "Your performance can re-energize anyone, no matter how deeply they are in the grip of despondency." He also shed some light on India's development as a sporting nation and its rich athletic heritage.
The athletes, their coaches, representatives from National Sports Federations, officials from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and officials from the Indian Olympic Association and Paralympic Committee of India were present at the program.
