Prime Minister inaugurates India Energy Week 2024

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India Energy Week 2024 (IEW) in Goa, India. This event brought together India’s entire energy sector under one roof. The Prime Minister addressed the gathering and participated in the roundtable with Global Oil and Gas CEOs and experts.
The Prime Minister praised the organizers for choosing Goa as the event venue for the 2nd edition of IEW happening this year. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, Goa captivates tourists worldwide with its enchanting natural beauty and rich culture. The Prime Minister emphasized the State's remarkable development, declaring it an ideal setting for discussions on a sustainable future and environmental sensitivity. Expressing confidence, he believed that the foreign guests attending India Energy Week 2024 in Goa would carry with them lasting memories of the State.
The Prime Minister highlighted that India holds the position of being the world's third-largest consumer of energy, oil, and LPG. Additionally, he continued that India ranks as the fourth-largest importer and refiner of LNG and boasts the fourth-largest automobile market.
Discussing projections of doubling the nation's energy demand by 2045, the Prime Minister outlined India's strategic plans to address this surge in demand. Despite challenging global conditions, he proudly stated that the nation has witnessed a reduction in petrol prices and achieved 100% electricity coverage by electrifying numerous households. He concluded by asserting that India is not only meeting its own energy needs but is also influencing the global trajectory.
