Paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters

Dhapru Pandey was a freedom fighter and son of Radha Pandey. He belonged originally to Pandeytola, Rohini, Jasidih, Deoghar, and Jharkhand and his date of birth is 1928. His wife’s name was Sudama Devi. He was educated till the 3rd standard. He knew how to read and write. He used to hoist the flag in K.K. Stadium Deogarh, Sahid Asthal, Rohini. He was involved in the Freedom Movement. He had contributed to 1942, Quit India Movement. In this revolution he was involved in burning the post office, robbing the Grain Store House, and uprooting the Railway track. During the Quit India Movement, he was sent to central Jail, Bhagalpur for 3 years, that time he was 16 years old, under the jailer M.J Khan. For his contribution to Independence, he received a copper plate from Prime Minister Lt. Indira Gandhi on August 15, 1972. He died on 1 May 1982. He was a great social worker.
