Janak Kishore Thakur was a freedom fighter from Kayas Tola, Rohini, Jasidih, and Deoghar. His wife's name was Janki Naapit. He had participated in the 1942 Quit India Movement. The Gorkha regiment was suppressing the people due to which revolt started against the suppression. In 1942 two Britishers were killed during this he was arrested and sent to Bhagalpur central jail for 3 years. After being released from jail he separated himself from INC but did remain with Congress. He was involved in the destruction of the railway track and also in looting the Grain Storage House. He died on 26 March 2008.
