Lakhi Prasad Roy was a freedom fighter and son of the Late Puran Roy. He belonged originally to Pandeydih, Saarwan, Deogarh, and Jharkhand and his date of birth is 1906. His wife's name was Devki Devi. He had contributed to 1942, Quit India Movement. He was educated till the seventh standard and used to do social work. He was involved in lot of a Grain storage house and the burning of the Post Office and Police Station and was arrested and sent to Bhagalpur Jail in 1942 for five years. He was in contact with Gandhiji. He was a true follower of Gandhiji and followed the path of truth similar to that of Gandhiji. He used to help people get jobs and also used to go to the Lok Sabha, Delhi. For his contribution to independence, he received a copper plate from Prime Minister Lt. Indira Gandhi on 15 August 1972. He also received a pension from the Indian Government as a Freedom Fighter. He had one son namely, Suresh Prasad Roy. He died in 2007
