Paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters

Lal Ji Modi

Lal Ji Modi was a freedom fighter and son of the Late Vishu Modi. He belonged originally to Manjhiladih, Saarwan, Deogarh, and Jharkhand. His wife's name was Late Subhadra Devi. He had contributed to 1942, Quit India Movement. He was educated till the fifth standard. During the Quit India Movement, he was sent to Dumka Jail for one and a half months. He was involved in the Sabotage of the Post Office and looting of the Grain Storage House. He was in contact with Gandhiji. He was a true follower of Gandhiji and followed the path of truth similar to that of Gandhiji. He was also one of the chief freedom fighters from Saarwan amongst all other freedom fighters. He died on 7 February 1983.
