Paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters

Sardha Prasad Jha was a freedom fighter and son of Santu Jha. He belonged originally to Pandeytola, Rohini, Jasidih, Deoghar, and Jharkhand and his date of birth is 19 April 1919. His wife’s name was Shubhankri Devi. He was involved in the freedom movement. He had contributed to 1942, Quit India Movement. In this revolution he was involved in the burning of the post office, robbing the Grain Store House, uprooting the railway track, and did a flag march at S.D.O. Office, Deogarh. During the Quit India Movement, he was sent to Deoghar Jail for 3 years. For his contribution to independence, he received a copper plate from Prime Minister Lt. Indira Gandhi on August 15, 1972. His occupation was as a teacher of Sanskrit subjects and was Principal of Sanskrit Pathshala, Rohini. He died on September 24, 1977, due to Lung Cancer. He was a Great Social worker.
