He belonged to Punjab and he joined the Azad Hind Fauj as a Captain of the III Guerrilla Regiment in 1942. He showed exemplary bravery while capturing and 8000 feet hill on 15th May 1944 at Haka. For this bravery he was awarded Tamgha-e-Shaheed-e-Bharat by Netaji after. He died another battle at Travang.
