Unsung Heroes Detail

V.S.A. Kandaswamy was born in 1922 to Arumugam and Angayi ammal, in Attayampatti Village, Salem District. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi since childhood, he participated in the freedom struggle. He took part in the Salt satyagraha in 1932 and the Quit India Movement in1942. He was arrested and imprisoned at Kovai Central Jail. He received a ‘Tamra Patra from the Indian Government in 1973. He passed away in 1982.
