Viswanatha Das was born in Sivakasi in 1886 as the eldest son of Subramaniam and Jnanambal. He had only to sing the Hymn to the mythological dramas in the early years of Thoothukudi. His songs were widely used in the liberation struggle of the Congress party, and the song "The Death of the Punjab Massacre", which he wrote after the Jallianwala Bagh case, took the place of liberation in the liberation struggle Mythological drama. It is appreciated by the researchers that his embrace of liberation politics is his specialty. He was jailed for violating the ban imposed by the government for his dramas. He was involved in the non-cooperation movement. He was a member of the Congress in the Tirumangalam circuit congress and in the Madurai Zilla Board. He died on 31 December 1940.
