Union Territory of Puducherry, District - Karaikal. Sivasubramanian was the son of Muthaya Vandayar. He was born on 14 April 1932. He was a native of Karaikal. He obtained his certificate in French and in Tamil from the Modern College, Karaikal. He joined the liberation front in 1952. He was the Secretary of Karaikal ‘Pagutharivu Manram’. He took part in Satyagraha in April 1954. He was punished with imprisonment in Central Jail, Karaikal, for 23 days. His left hand was severely injured in the callous police beating. He was given a State Award for his role in the Liberation movement.
