The awareness program under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, AKAM was held at Nagam, Banihal. The theme of today’s program under AKAM was Republic Day and the Constitution of India.
The females present here were told about how we got our Constitution, and how is it the source of rights and duties. Various provisions regarding Fundamental rights, Directive Principles of State Policy, and Fundamental Duties were told to the people present. How Various policies for the benefit of the people are associated with Directive Principles of State policy were told to them. A major focus was the Fundamental Duties that we owe to our country.
Provisions as, To cherish and follow the noble ideals that inspired the national struggle for our freedom, duty to provide education to the kids, to value and preserve our rich heritage and culture, striving towards excellence in all spheres of individual and collective activity to take Nation to higher levels of endeavor and achievement, protection of the environment, etc. were discussed elaborately.
Attention was also drawn to schemes of the Handicrafts Department and how females can become independent and economically self-sufficient with the help of these schemes.
