As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an event was organized by Embassy of India, Tokyo, to share important developments and initiatives taking shape under India’s G20 Presidency. A special message was delivered by India’s G20 Sherpa Shri Amitabh Kant at the event. A presentation on G20: Digital Innovation Alliance was also given by CEO MEITY Startup Hub Mr Jitendra Vijay. The Embassy intends to continue with sharing the details with Japanese stakeholders on the developments in this regard. India's presidency began on 1st December 2022, leading up to the summit in the fourth quarter of 2023. The presidency handover ceremony was held as an intimate event, in which the G20 Presidency gavel was transferred from Indonesian President Mr. Joko Widodo to Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the close of the Bali summit.
