Governor hoists the national flag at the state-level function held at Botad to mark 74th Republic Day

As a part 74th Republic Day state-level celebration at Botad district Governor of Gujarat Shri Acharya Devvrat hoisted the national flag. The Tricolor was given special honor by showering flowers through Air Force helicopter during the flag hoisting. Governor of Gujarat Shri Acharya Devvrat and Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inspected the parade. Soldiers from different 28 platoons painted the colors of patriotism by saluting the tricolor through a disciplined parade. On this occasion, under the special initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the police platoon of Madhya Pradesh took part in the parade and highlighted the message of national unity.

During the parade as many as 920 security forces from 28 platoons including Indian Coast Guard, Gujarat Marine Commando, Chetak Commandos, Botad District Police Platoon, Bhavnagar District Police Platoon, Rajkot District Women Police Platoon, Gujarat Jail Men Platoon, Shwan Dal (Dog squard) , Ashwa Dal (Horse squard) and band force personnel participated. Apart from this, a demonstration of bullet proof vehicles by the Chetak commandos, a motorcycle stunt show and Shwan Dal (Dog squard) , Ashwa Dal (Horse squard) performed various stunts and showed their skills.

A lathi drill to the tune of music and malkham was performed by the State Police Department. Women police commandos with rifles weighing more than 10 kg enthralled everyone by performing stunts. A cultural program full of patriotism was presented by the male and female police personnel with the presentation of various traditional dances of five states including Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan.

This cultural program organized by the Gujarat Police Department enthralled everyone present at the Police Parade Ground.

Students of various educational institutes of Botad enthralled the people of Botad through performing on famous compositions “’Charan Kanya”, Vandan Tujne Maa Bharti and Kanudo Kaljani Kor of Rashtriya shayar Shri Jhaverchand Meghani.

Governor in the presence of Chief Minister honored Chetak Commando Platoon who stood first, Rajkot Rural Mahila Police Platoon who stood second and Madhya Pradesh Male Platoon who stood third among the paraded platoons with trophies. Apart from this, the team of SRP jawans who performed best in the motorcycle stunt and police personnel who showed their excellent performance in parade as well dog show and horse show were honored.

On the occasion the retiring horse of Gujarat Police –“Shunya” was given an honorable retirement by the Chief Minister. Apart from this, Chief Minister went among all the soldiers and students participating in the parade and greeted them.

On this occasion President of Botad District Panchayat Shri. Ghanshyambhai Virani, Bhavnagar MP Shri Bhartiben Shiyal, Botad MLA Shri Umeshbhai Makwana, Gadhada MLA Shri Mahant Shri Shambhu Prasad Ji Tundiya, MLA of Dhandhuka Mr. Kalubhai Dabhi, Jambusar MLA Shri D. K Swami, State Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Shri Rajkumar, State Police Chief Shri Ashish Bhatia, Additional Chief Secretary Shri A K Rakesh, Principal Secretary, Department of Youth and Culture Shri Ashwini Kumar, District In-charge Secretary Shri Sanjiv Kumar, Botad District Collector Shri. Bijal Shah, Botad District Development Officer Shri. P. D. Palsana, District Superintendent of Police Mr. K.F. Balolia, including Zilla Panchayat, Taluka Panchayat members, Officers and employees of various departments of Government and A large number of students of schools and colleges and citizens remained present.
