Embassy of India, Tokyo organised Sakura viewing(Hanami) celebration of the Spring season from 24-29 March 2023. The event was graced by the presence of H.E Mr. HOSODA Hiroyuki, Speaker of House of Representatives, H.E. Mr HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. NISHIMURA Yasutoshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), H.E Mr. KONO Taro, Minister for Digital Transformation, H.E Mr. WATANABE Hiromichi, Minister for Reconstruction and H.E. Mr. HAGIUDA Koichi, Chairperson, Policy Research Council of LDP. Important dignitaries included State Ministers, Parliamentary Vice Ministers, Special Advisors to Prime Minister, distinguished Members of Parliament, Governors, Mayors, Former Ambassadors of Japan to India, Vice Ministers and friends of India. Vice minister of Defense for international affairs OKA Masami, LT GEN Yamane Toshikazu, VCOS of JGSDF and LT Gen Ogasawara Takuto, VCOS, JASDF attended the Hanami celebration. Members of Parliament and Japan India Parliamentary Friendship League (JIPFL), Senior officials of Government of Japan, business community, academia, Think Tanks, Media, representatives of art & culture and famous performing artists and friends of India attended the events. During the Hanami-celebration week  being organized between 24-29 March 2023, the Embassy has organised a photo exhibition of India-Japan 70 years of establishment of India-Japan relations. In addition, two exhibition Lounges for Millets and AYSUH (Ayruveda, Yoga, Sidda, Unaani and Homeopathy) also have been set up, showcasing International Year of Millets 2023 and healthcare and wellbeing benefits of AYUSH.
