The Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen is a premium mission owned by the Government of India that aims for universal sanitation coverage across the rural areas of the nation. When India is celebrating its 75th year of Independence, the component of sanitation is very significant for inclusive development. Under the program of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the topic discussed above, the painting competition was conducted in Khanmoh. The venue for the event was, Panchayat Ghar, Khanmoh C. The chief guest was DDC Chairperson, Srinagar. In addition, the Panchayat Secretary who was the host for the event was also present at the venue along with the Panchayati Raj Institutions and the school students. In context to the summary of the event, the chief guest had a one-to-one interaction with the participants regarding the aim and objective of the event. Then, the painting competition was started in which the students were engaged in drawing paintings related to different aspects of Swatch Bharat Mission- Grameen pictorially. The paintings depicted the essence of a mission like using two types of dustbins for dry and wet waste, not littering in the open, no open- defecation, using Community Sanitary Complexes, etc. After that, the prize distribution ceremony was organized for the students. At the end of the event, the chief guest emphasized all to stick to the objectives of the SBM-G with letter and spirit. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Panchayat Secretary. About more than 25 people participated in the event.
