In connection with celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a Jan Baghidhari campaign was organized in Nowgam –B under Meri Mati Mera Desh . The venue for the event was the Masjid Noor ground, Banpora( Nowgam ). The chief guest for the event was: Private Secretary to the worthy Chief Secretary , J&K- Shri. Lateif ahmed, JKAS. In addition , the Block Development Officer, Srinagar ,field staff like Panchayat Inspector , Panchayat Secretary along with the Panchayati Raj Institutions and line department representatives were participants . During the event that was hosted by the Rural Development Department , the BDO introduced the topic in presence of all the participants mentioning the aim of the event . The chief guest was then invited to speak on the occasion. In his address ,he mentioned the objectives of the Jan Baghidhari campaign when India is celebrating the 75 th year of Independence. He then impressed upon the line departments to closely monitor the activities the developmental activities of the panchayat. He also added that, the departments must liaison with each other in connection with the department so that the essence of Meri Mati , Mera Desh is fulfilled in which the public aspirations are taken into consideration . He also urged all of them to respect the motherland and inculcate the love for nation. The event bended with vote of thanks by the Secretary Panchayat and singing of National Anthem. About more than 58 people participated in the event.
