As the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India addressed through the program Mann Ki Baad, we all are celebrating Independence Day as a grand celebration as India completes 75 years of independence. On this occasion, various programs are organized and conducted well across the country. As part of it, Amrit Kalash Yatra will be held. Accordingly, 7,500 small urns will be filled with soil from different parts of the country, and sapling plants will be planted in them and brought to Delhi as Amrit Kalash Yatra. He said that all the soil in those urns will be mixed near the National War Memorial in Delhi and then saplings will be planted and AmritPark will be established at that place.
Meri Maati Mera Desh – Second Phase - A Procession on this theme, Tree Festival and Art performance was held on 18.08.2023 at 4 pm at Gandhi Thidal, Beach Road, Puducherry. Amrit Kalash Yatra was organized in 108-gram panchayats and 3 district level and 5 municipality level was held from 29.09.2023 to 11.10.2023. Presently the state-level Amrit Kalash Yatra was held on 26.10.2023 at 10 am at Kamarajar Mani Mandapam and the same will be transported to New Delhi by Nehru Yuva Kendra members. Its closing ceremony is on 31.10.2023
The event will be inaugurated by the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor. Hon'ble Chief Minister and Hon'ble Speaker of Legislative Assembly presided over the programme. Five Pledges (PanchPran pledge) were taken to make India a developed country, abolish slavery, be proud of our rich heritage, promote unity, fulfill duties as citizens, and respect protectors. A website has also been launched to encourage public participation.
