Ambassador Shambhu Kumaran addressed students and faculty members of De La Salle University, International Studies Organisation at the University’s ‘Diplomatic Hour’ in Manila on 11 October 2023.
Outlining India’s Indo-Pacific strategy with a focus on Southeast Asia and growing bilateral ties with the Philippines which also emphasize India’s pivotal role in regional geopolitics was discussed at the said event. Both nations share a commitment to economic development, maritime security, and sustainable development which deepens regional collaboration. In addition, it opens the door to cooperation in various sectors such as trade, economics, technology, capacity building, and defense.
India’s stronger ties with the Philippines also reflect a vision of a peaceful and strategic tie between both nations in the Indo-Pacific region in the future.
