Ministry of Culture along with the International Buddhist Confederation celebrated the 2566thVaishakha Buddha Poornima at JLN indoor Stadium New, Delhi in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Ministers Shri Kiren Rijiju, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal and Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi. Several prominent ambassadors of Buddhist countries and dignitaries were also present. The Hon’ble Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the ‘India International Centre for Buddhist Culture and Heritage’ at Lumbini, Nepal. Simultaneous Manglapath chanting was also organized at prominent Buddhist sites across the world.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit continues the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Nepal in furtherance of our Neighbourhood First policy. It underscores the shared civilizational heritage of the people of both countries.
