Hon’ble Prime Minister inaugurated World Food India 2023

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the second edition of ‘World Food India 2023’ at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The event highlighted India as the ‘Food Basket of the World’. He also disbursed a special Seed Capital Assistance fund to benefit more than 1 lakh Self Help Group members.
The Prime Minister praised the food street section, startup pavilion, and technology displayed, stating that the convergence of taste and technology will shape the future economy. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of World Food India 2023 and one of the major concerns facing food security in the rapidly changing modern world.
World Food India's results clearly indicate that India's food processing industry is becoming known as the "Sunrise Sector." The Prime Minister said that over the past nine years, the industry has attracted direct foreign investments due to the Government's pro-farmer and pro-industry policies.
The Prime Minister emphasized that women, small industries, and small farmers are the three key pillars supporting India's success in the food processing sector. He emphasized the efficient use of Farmer Produce Organizations, or FPOs, to boost small farmers' involvement and earnings.
