In the village of Deulgaon Mali, freedom fighters were born and raised- who made a valuable contribution to the Indian freedom struggle. One of these freedom fighters was Kashinath Narayan Magar, about whom not many people know.

Kashinath Narayan Magar was born on 1 July 1922 in Deulgaon Mali, Buldhana district. After completing his education up to fourth standard in his native village, he was sent to the Tilak National School at Khamgaon for further education. Here, he got enthusiasm and inspiration from his teachers and freedom fighter Mukund Pande Guruji. He also worked along with freedom fighters Narayanrao Surushe and Ramchandra Girhe and others in the national movement. At a very young age, he got attracted to the activities of the freedom movement. Along with his friends, he started participating in movements and activities such as opening night schools, establishing youth councils, building the Gandhi library, creating arenas to create new consciousness among the youth, and explaining the importance of physical education to society.

Kashinath Narayan was influenced by the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi and because of that he always supported spinning yarn and promoted the use of khadi clothes. Along with his friends and colleagues from Deulgaon Mali, he undertook constructive works like village cleaning, Harijan relief, elimination of superstitions, organizing kirtans, etc. He also participated in the Alcohol Prohibition Movement in his village. Kashinath served the country by working in the force of independent soldier Anandswami, who provided financial support to the Azad Hind Fauj established by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Due to his participation in this movement, he was arrested along with his colleagues on 16 August 1942 and lodged in the District Jail at Buldhana, and later released in a thick forest. He also contributed to Bhoodan Movement organized by Vinoba Bhave.

On 1 May 2000, the former Chief Minister Late Vilasrao Deshmukh felicitated Kashinath Magar and his colleagues for their valuable contribution to the freedom fight. Similarly, on 15 August 2011, he was felicitated by the District Collector via a badge of honor on behalf of the Buldana Zila Parishad.

Kashinath Narayan Magar died on 1 June 1999 at Deulgaon Mali.
