Paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters

Rati Ram Deshbandhu Gupta was born on 14th June, 1901. He is popularly known as—‘Lala Desh Bandhu Gupta’. The Jallianwalla Bagh massacre left its imprint on him. He had active involvement in various events of the freedom struggle and suffered political incarceration on a number of occasions as a result of his active involvement. He was first imprisoned at the age of 19 years. He was associated with both Lala Lajpat Rai and Swami Shraddhanand. He was actively involved in countering the communal riots witnessed in Delhi and other areas of India. He died on 21st November, 1951.
