Paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters

Radhe Shyam Sharma joined the Indian freedom struggle at the age of 13 years. Initially, he became an active member of the Arya Samaj, and stayed in Alwar for a short span of time. Drawing inspiration from the stature of Jamnalal Bajaj and Kailash Nath Katju, he became a member of the Praja Mandal in the year 1938. He was constantly in touch with Baba Narsingh Das, Swami Kumaranand, Hiralal Shastri and Baba Harish chandra.

Sharma used to exchange correspondence with Batukeshwar Dutt. For a long period of time, he remained the Secretary of the Praja Mandal. He played an active role in the various programmes organized on khadi in Sewagram Vardha in early 1942. He worked for a short span of time with Azad Morcha. He was engaged in activities such as stopping the train, keeping bombs, organizing councils and meetings, etc. He contested elections in the year 1952.
