V. Lokidas was born at Sainagar Vellore. At a young age, his family migrated to Malaysia. He was inspired by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's speech and joined the Indian National Army. In 1938, he joined as Engineering Sub Officer in the INA. While participating in the battle against the British Army in Impala, Lokidas was arrested and imprisoned for 10 months in Yangon jail. Later he shifted to Chittagong jail and was terminated from his post.
