The plantation drive was carried out in Shadipora Panchayat at Shadipora Sar Amrit Sarovar under the banner Meri Maati Mera Desh on 09-08-2023 which culminated on the very same day. The plantation was carried out in the presence of PRIS, youth, and the regional public. During the drive, the concerned forest staff of Drugmullah forest Block tendered awareness among the public about the importance of plants and the efforts to be inculcated for their substantial survival. The public was advised to keep watering the saplings planted and not allow them to wilt.
The regional public was also instructed about the plastic menace and the insidious impact it has on the environment and the need to get rid of it as soon as possible. In the meanwhile cleanliness drives were also carried out in the ambit of the area and 2 kgs of plastic was accumulated and burned. The PRIs and other public who took part in the said drive also hailed the efforts of the department to initiate such an initiative which will help to increase the plantation cover and retired concurrently for such initiatives to be taken in the future as well for the welfare of the general public. Some plants were also distributed among the public.
