Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav was held on 17th September 2022. With more than 1,68,000 people voluntarily donating blood in a single day. the country surpassed the previous best of 87,059 (2014) to create a new world record today. This is a significant achievement in the countrywide mega voluntary blood donation drive, Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav which was kickstarted by Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya by donating blood at a blood donation camp at Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.

Achieved maximum Blood unit collection in one day from voluntary non-remunerated blood donors on 17th September 2022 (Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav) made World Record with a collection of more than 1.68 lakh Units).

The purpose was to increase awareness about the need for regular non-remunerated voluntary blood donations and develop a repository of voluntary donors.
- Free Blood group testing facilities were provided during the campaign.
- The facility for registration of voluntary blood donors was enabled on Aarogya Setu App.
- The e-RaktKosh web portal was earmarked to serve as the interface for Blood Centres/Blood Banks/Blood donation camps and voluntary donors and related data management.
