Department of Immuno haematology & blood transfusion (IHBT), Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) & associated sucheta kriplani hospital & kalawati saran hospital, New Delhi in collaboration with Blood Transfusion Division of Dte.GHS organised "National Voluntary Blood Donation Day" celebrations at Swarna Jayanti Auditorium, LHMC on 02nd Nov' 2022. The event was graced by Chief Guest- Dr.Atul Goel, DGHS, MoHFW and Guests of Honour- Dr.Anil Kumar, Director NBTC & Addl DDG, Dte.GHS and Dr.Megha Pravin Khobragade, Asst, Director General, Dte.GHS. Dr.Madhur Gupta and Dr.Smriti Chawla from WHO were also present at the event.
Regular voluntary blood donors and winners of slogan/poster competition, were felicitated by our esteemed dignitaries. Members of Faculty, Resident Doctors Association (RDA), students and paramedical staff participated enthusiastically to make the event a success.Students performed cultural activities to highlight the significance of voluntary blood donation.
Focus of the event was to promote voluntry non remunerated donation of blood round the year so that the safe blood is available to the needy patients without replacement & in adequate quantity.It was also emphasized that Blood centres should ensure that adequate blood testing kits, blood bags and logistics are in place .they have to stick to NBTC guidelines.
They may involve experienced staff from other departments of hospital in case of shortage.
