Recently during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration in Mumbai on World Blood Donor Day, 14th June; the Government of Maharashtra Felicitated the Top 10 Blood Centers from the state (5-Government & 5-Non-Government) for collecting maximum blood during the last 3 years including the difficult time of Corona Pandemic.
Lifeline Blood Centre, Nagpur was the only ONE blood center from the Vidarbha region and number ONE in the entire Maharashtra state.
According to Dr. Warbhe, it was a big surprise but this achievement and honor don’t belong to Lifeline alone, but/ rather true owners of this honor are the blood donors and camp organizers who are associated with Lifeline for so long. And as part of a moral obligation to pass on this great honor from the government to these real blood heroes; the program “JSKS / Jan-Sahyog-Krutagnyata-Samaroh” was organized.
But this program took a real national dimension when Dr. Anil Kumar, Director-NBTC accepted to be the chief guest & directed this program to be taken under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Further, he granted permission for the National Blood Transfusion Council, Government of India to be the co-organizer of this event and also authorized the use of NBTC-Logo for this event. Later, the State Blood Transfusion Council, the Government of Maharashtra, and national societies ISBTI & ISTM also consented to be the co-organizer of this program hosted by Lifeline Blood Centre, Nagpur.
More than 2000 people attended this program. About 1100 Blood Donation Camp Organizers & hundreds of Blood, Plasma & Platelets were felicitated with various awards during this program. Esteemed guests during their speeches said that; this is a historic event of this kind in the entire country on this scale for the felicitations of blood donors & camp organizers.
