Under the program of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Vasudha Vandhan awareness program was conducted at Khanmoh in connection with Meri Mati, Mera Desh. The venue for the event was : Panchayat Office, Khanmoh C and the chief guest was Conservator of Forests, Srinagar Circle. The Block Development Officer, DDC from Khanmh III, the Panchayati Raj Institutions and the people of Block were among the all who participated in the event . In the backdrop of the event that was related to the awareness program on the importance of forests and afforestation. The Block Development Officer delivered the introductory lecture about the aim of the event. Then, with due respect, the Chief guest was invited to cordially speak on the occasion In his address , the chief guest discussed the essence of Vasudha Vandhan. He said that in the changing environment and the ill effects of Global Warming , the afforestation is one of the tool through which, we can counter all these somehow. He added that , the people need to be made aware that this idea of planting more and more trees is beneficial for the survival of the present and the future generation. Later in the event , the Saplings of plants were planted to mark the importance of the day . He then, impressed upon all to make sure that on the 75 th year of Independence, the all boxes related to overall health of the society are ticked fully on heading towards new heights in the development as was dreamed by great freedom fighters of India from Pre- Independence . The event concluded with vote of thanks by the Secretary of Panchayat at the venue. About more than 51 people participated in the event.
