As per directions from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, the living Freedom Fighters of Ernakulam District – Shri Achuthan Nair (Iringole), Shri Narayanan Nair (Kanjoor), Shri Paulo (Manjapra), and Shri M. I. Varghese (Pothanikkad) were felicitated by Shri S. K. Sahu, Financial Adviser, and Chief Accounts Officer, Cochin Port Authority as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The freedom fighters of Ernakulam district of Kerala were honored as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations by Cochin Port Authority, Willingdon Island, Cochin.
The list of freedom fighters alive in Ernakulam district details was collected from the Office of the District Collector, Ernakulam. The senior officers from Cochin Port Trust Authority visited the freedom fighters at their houses and honored them by presenting mementos.
