India Gate has been an important public place, inviting visitors from around the globe. This footfall has increased substantially after the refurbishment of Central Vista and the lawns of India Gate. The programs under Kalanjali are being specially curated, and are being expressed through music, dance, theatre, story-telling and visual arts The shows are open to all and it is an opportunity for the visitors to experience the traditional culture while on an outing with family and friends. The open ambiance also allows visitors to interact with nature and artists from all over the country and learn about their traditions and culture, thereby enhancing their cultural awareness.

The programs are designed in a way that all spectators, particularly children and young adults, will grasp the knowledge about our traditional, folk, classical and contemporary art forms and appreciate the world of arts, music, and literature through pleasant experiences. Understanding the strengths of our cultural background as well as that of our brothers living in different parts of the country gives us a better understanding of the culture of our great land.

All organizations under the Ministry of Culture, including Sangeet Natak Akademi, Lalit Kala Akademi, Sahitya Akademi, Zonal Cultural Centres, and others will work in unison towards conducting these theme-based programs focusing on areas such as Women and Child Development, Tribal Development, Water, Lifestyle for Environment, Life, Health and Wellness, Inclusive Development, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Cultural Pride and Unity.

The setting of these events in the vicinity of Kartavya Path holds crucial significance, especially in the context of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. As India transcends into the journey of Amrit Kaal, Kartavya Path shines as the new beacon of freedom and Kalanjali is our collective salute to the spirit of free India.
