‘eSARAS’ mobile application launched to support women of Self-Help Groups

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojna-National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) launched the eSARAS mobile application to support women of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by marketing products made by them. Shri Shailesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Rural Department, Government of India launched the mobile app at New Delhi. He also inaugurated the eSARAS fulfillment center at Janakpuri, New Delhi.

eSARAS app will be managed by the Foundation of Rural Value Chains and shall be used for monitoring the processing, packaging, and shipping of products. The app shall also handle the logistics required to bring the ordered parcel to the customer’s doorstep as soon as possible. This initiative by the DAY-NRLM shall promote marketing practices of the best, authentic handlooms and handicrafts made by women.

Secretary Shailesh Kumar Singh applauded this initiative, stating that this promotes the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’. This app shall make it easier to market the products made by SHGs. DAY-NRLM follows a 360-degree marketing approach with campaigns such as the eSARAS app and events like SARAS melas and other activities on online and offline activities.
