Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the event marking ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on 26th December 2023. The Prime Minister expressed that the nation is commemorating the enduring sacrifices of Veer Sahibzade and drawing inspiration from them as a new chapter of Veer Bal Diwas unfolds during India's Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal.
Looking back on the celebrations of the first Veer Bal Diwas held last year, the Prime Minister underscored the captivating stories of courage exhibited by Veer Sahibzade that resonated across the nation. Stressing that Veer Bal Diwas embodies an unyielding commitment to safeguarding Bhartiyata, he emphasized that this occasion serves as a poignant reminder that bravery transcends age and boundaries.
Describing it as a celebration of the Sikh Gurus' heritage, the Prime Minister remarked that the bravery and principles of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Veer Sahibzades continue to inspire every Indian today. The Prime Minister asserted that this genuine devotion to the Gurus sparks profound patriotism and dedication to the nation.
In commemoration of Veer Bal Diwas, the Government is organizing various programs across the nation to enlighten and educate citizens, particularly young children, about the remarkable courage displayed by the Sahibzades. A digital exhibition narrating the life stories and sacrifices of the Sahibzades will be showcased in schools and childcare institutions across the nation. Additionally, a film dedicated to 'Veer Bal Diwas' will be screened on a national scale. Furthermore, various online competitions, including interactive quizzes, will be conducted through the MYBharat and MyGov portals.
On the auspicious occasion of the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, announced by the Prime Minister, 26th December has been designated as 'Veer Bal Diwas' to commemorate the martyrdom of Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh.
