Girija Nand Singh was a freedom fighter from Saarwan, Deoghar, Jharkhand. His father’s name was Vakil Prasad Singh. His wife's name was Azad Devi. He had worked along with Subhash Chandra Bose and had also gone to jail. He was a leader of the Extremist party. A prize of 25,000 was announced if someone helps to find him dead or alive. He was arrested because he had participated in the 1932 Satyagraha and 1942 movements and looted the grain storehouse. He stayed in the Phuljori hills for years. He also went to Deoghar jail and shifted to Shirdi Jail, West Bengal. Britishers had announced shoot and sight order for him. He was a great social worker. He belonged to a very poor family.
