Paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters

Jai Narayan Singh was a freedom fighter and son of Vanshi Singh. He belonged originally to the village- of Lalpur, P.O- Rohini, P.S-Jasidih, District- Deoghar, Jharkhand, and his date of birth was February 03, 1920. His wife’s name was Sandhya Devi. He was educated till 6th class in Middle School, Rohini. He participated in the freedom movement from student life. He had contributed to 1942, Quit India Movement. In this revolution he was involved in the burning of the post office, robbing the Grain Store House, and uprooting the Railway track. During the Quit India Movement, he was sent to Deoghar Jail, Central jail Dunka for 2 years. His companions were Janki Thakur and Baikunth Jha. For his contribution to independence, he received a copper plate from Prime Minister Lt. Indira Gandhi on August 15, 1972. He was awarded the President's Award in 2011
